MCL module instructor named to UK Competition Commission

Gavin Robert - who, in collaboration with Bill Allan and Albertina Albors-Llorens, will teach a module on international merger control as part of the Masters in Corporate Law programme in 2013-14 - was appointed by Consumer Minister Jo Swinson on 10 April as one of eighteen new members of the UK Competition Commission.

Panel members are selected and appointed for their experience, ability and diversity of skills in competition economics, law, finance and industry. The Competition Commission is an independent public body which carries out in-depth inquiries into mergers, markets and the regulation of the major regulated industries.

Brian Cheffins said: "We are very pleased that Gavin Robert has been appointed to the Competition Commission. His experience at the Commission will undoubtedly enhance our new international merger control module for the benefit of students."
