What were you doing before the MCL?

Before undertaking the MCL, I was an associate at an international law firm in Sydney, Australia. As a member of the corporate markets team, I specialised in mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations and corporate governance. Having previously studied a Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) and a Bachelor of Business majoring in Law and Information Systems, I have a particular interest in the interdisciplinary connections between law, technology and business.

What were your impressions of the MCL?

The MCL provided an unparalleled opportunity to enhance my knowledge of corporate and financial law under the leadership of world class academics and alongside a diverse and international cohort. The programme combines academic rigour with a strong international and practical focus. A particular highlight of the MCL was the Deals Course, which involved legal practitioners from leading London firms. This course enhanced my ability to critically analyse and evaluate corporate transactions and underlying transaction documentation across different jurisdictions. Studying the MCL at the University of Cambridge was not only an invaluable learning experience, but provided a platform to expand my networks and develop lifelong friendships.

What are your post-MCL plans and have they changed due to taking the MCL?

Following the MCL, I will resume my career in corporate law. The insights gained through the MCL will be directly applied to deliver superior client outcomes and enhance subsequent legal practice.
