What were you doing before the MCL?

Prior to the MCL, I was working as an Associate with Trilegal, a tier I law firm in India. I was part of their corporate and technology, media and telecommunciations practice.

What were your impressions of the MCL?

Having a desire to gain cross-border expertise in corporate law and be part of a market for for globalised lawyers, I decided to pursue a Masters Degree in corporate law. The MCL proved to be an ideal choice. It is a very practical and structured course, with teaching being done by members of Cambridge’s world renowned Law Faculty and leading practitioners. The MCL provides a perfect blend of practical and academic insights into important corporate law subjects. The Deals Course, a unique feature of the MCL program, furthers an understanding of complex legal transactions and gives students an opportunity to interact with leading lawyers involved in cutting-edge transactions. A smallish cohort of just over 20 students from various parts of the world fostered healthy discussion and interactions in the classroom and socially.

What are your post-MCL plans and have they changed due to taking the MCL?

The global and practical nature of this course, along with the prestige attached to the University of Cambridge, provided me with the right impetus to pursue a global corporate law profession. I will be joining the Singapore office of Latham & Watkins and will work primarily with their capital markets team.
