Dr Marc Moore to join Cambridge Law Faculty and the MCL

The Law Faculty and the organizers of the MCL are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Marc Moore as a Reader in Corporate Law, which bolsters Cambridge's already strong corporate law team. Dr Moore will take up his appointment in the 2014-15 academic year. During his first year at Cambridge he will teach the MCL module on US Corporate Law and will give lectures for the Tripos Company Law course and the LLM Corporate Finance course.

Dr Moore, who studied law at the University of Glasgow and obtained his PhD from the University of Bristol, has significant experience of teaching and researching corporate law at a number of academic institutions. Dr Moore is coming to Cambridge from University College London, where he was Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Laws. Previously, he taught at the University of Bristol and was in 2011 visiting lecturer in the Adolf A. Berle, Jr. Center on Corporations, Law & Society based at the Seattle University School of Law.

Dr Moore's principal research interests relate to Anglo-American corporate governance, capital markets, law & economics, and theory of the firm. In 2012, he was awarded a prestigious Philip Leverhulme Prize in recognition of his substantial and acknowledged contribution to his field of study. In 2013 Dr Moore's book, Corporate Governance in the Shadow of the State was shortlisted for the SLS Peter Birks Prize for Outstanding Legal Scholarship.
