What were you doing before the MCL?

Prior joining the MCL I obtained my law degree at the Universidad Catolica Santa Maria la Antigua. I simultaneously worked as a law clerk in the oldest and one of the most prestigious law firms in Panama, based in the corporate department. Subsequently I acquired further experience in another major local law firm. I worked on commercial and real estate transactions as well as some tax and estate planning matters. I als published a book regarding trusts and estate planning,

What were your impressions of the MCL?

Taking the MCL represents one of the best decisions I have made in my academic and professional career. With the programme being limited to company law and academic subjects, it offers a technical and practical approach that provides a wide array of tools relevant for international practitioners. The MCL also was an eye opening experience due to the exposure we had to real contracts in the Deals course and the extensive contact we had with accomplished practitioners, who shared their experience.

What are your post-MCL plans and have they changed due to taking the MCL?

I am planning to write a new book about Panamanian corporate governance. I am also looking forward to continuing to practice law in Panama, specialising in corporate and estate planning matters. I ultimately aim to strike the right balance between my academic and practical endeavours.
